Catalonia 2002
Some pix from my holiday in Catalonia during the summer of 2002. Noticed I managed to upload an old file with only some keywords instead of the full text... how embarrassing!
Or "la Pedrera" as the spaniards call Gaudi's most famous building.
Touristic icon #1, taken with a second-hand 17mm Tokina lens I picked up the same day. Didn't manage to see more than the exterior the last time I was here way back in 1996... where I must have spent most of the time in a Virgin Megastore.
From the courtyard of the Dalí Museum in Figueiras, which he designed himself and spent his last years before being entombed in one of the exhibition rooms.
The ceiling of Salvador Dalé's bedroom. Remind me to paint something similar on my own. After I've constructed my own mausoleum, naturally.
Asereje
The Festa had two bands with a reportoire I believed was strictly confined to gay clubs (think I'll never forget the words to "It's Not Unusual" now), apart from one - a local hit they each played at least three times (check out the kids singing). Tried to track it down all over Spain with no luck, until I asked the girl in the tax free shop on the airport who immediately recognised my feeble attempts to copy the moves (even got a karaoke DVD video in case I get catch up). But as it turns out I only would have had to wait for two months for it to get to #1 on TOTP and over here as well... yes, it was the Ketchup Song all right. Asereje, ja deje tejebe tude jebere seiunouba majabi an de bugui an de buididipi.
Some of the local girls enjoying being in front of the camera.
