Photos from England

Some more pix I've taken on various trips to England from November 2001, meeting a certain girl after I recovered from the second broken arm. Pix taken using my Lomo, Pentax K1000 or Voigtländer Bessa R.

Bath

The Pump House

Used as a public swimming hall until closed for sanitary reasons in the fifties, the spa is still England's only source of naturally heated mineral water. This can be sampled at The Pump House if one is willing to stand in line for an hour, pay a quid for a drink that smells and tastes like sewage, and being regarded as a gullible fool by the locals.

Lap dog

Spectators at a street performer outside the Pump House in Bath.

Pulteney Bridge

One of only three overbuilt pedestrian bridges left in Britain.

River's edge

Astonishingly sharp picture taken right after sunset in November.

London

Camden Lock

Went up to Camden Market in January, wearing my Bessa R w/ 35mm Pancake on my chest and holding it like any other paranoid tourist afraid of getting mugged. Almost no one noticed I was taking candid shots from the hip, scale forcusing at 1/15 sec and f/5.6.

DJ in record store

Although no house fan, thankfully vinyl records still rule. So do celluloid film btw.

Chinese Dishes

A friend from Hong Kong claims my name sound like 'chicken' in Cantonese. Sik tzo faan mai?

Gary the Bear

A present for a very special girl I visited at Charing Cross hospital. The porter who delivered it told her "someone out there must love you very much". No truer words were ever spoken.
