Lomographs

OK, while this has absolutely nothing to do with Jackie, as promised earlier here are the results of my first adventures in Lomography, taken during my trip to England around easter 2001.

Before you start writing to Switzerland or logging on to eBay, a few warnings. From the first four films I only managed to use up only one. Of the others, the shutter refused to press down (and advance locked up) after 8-10 shots on two occations, while on the third the winding wheel had eaten through the holes so the remaining pictures were multi-exposed. Later I have a suspicion the shutter problem might have been caused by not opening the shutter cover fully. I have shot two more rolls last weekend where I had no such problems.

Oxford Circus tube station

... if I remember correctly. Last day of my holiday, on the way to the Heathrow Express. When I came out from Lancaster Gate we went up Sussex Gardens, and to my surprise I found myself across the street from Jackie's corner. Tried to snap a picture, but my Lomo had gotten the idea of exposing 15 pictures on the same frame, so all I'm left with is a greyish ghostly picture that resembles ectoplasm from a seance with Mme Blavatsky.

Ducks in a pond

Serpentine in Kensington Gardens. Yes, it is actually possible to take sharp pictures with a Lomo.

Duck attack

Hampton Court gardens outside London. These animals seem to prey on human flesh when there's no more M&Ms to be had.

Fireworks

Easter night in the Black Country. After five tries I finally managed to shoot the whole sky as it was lit up by flares.

Coventry Cathedral

Midnight mass, Good Friday 2001. Blame it on a shaky hand and too much ouzo.

Sir John the Roundhead

National Army Museum, Chelsea.
